Wishing for a cure!

A warm welcome to our group.

Managing type 1 diabetes requires a constant balance of diet, exercise and medication to maintain blood-glucose levels as close to normal as possible.
By maintaining this balance, we can try to replicate what happens in someone without diabetes, whose body produces insulin as required in response to food intake, diet and other variables.  This means keeping the levels of glucose and insulin in the body as close to ‘normal’ as possible.
Your doctor will recommend a target range for your blood-glucose levels, which may not always be achieved, but which should be strived for.  Remember that this information is not intended to take the place of medical advice.  For guidance on the topics discussed, please contact your healthcare professional.
The aim of the group is to provide support for parents and children in a friendly and relaxed enviroment.

Never feel alone, there is always someone willing to listen.
